Your money goes directly to someone whose life has been destroyed by war, famine, genocide or some other trauma. International Refugee Trust  has been organizing small projects that make a BIG difference in Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, Jordan, Thailand and Colombia since 1989. Its work focusses on those who are usually forgotten in crisis and conflict, with much of it centring women and children.

What I like about this charity is that as well as providing emergency care (food, medical help), its focus is on giving people what they need, in the longterm, to remake a life for themselves and their family.
