Smoky Mountains Trek 2017 - Northern Ireland · 17 September 2017 to 24 September 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know I lost both my wife and my mum in a short space of time to the Big C.
I can not say enough about the support and services received from Marie Curie.
Colette was able to be cared for at home during the darkest hours and got her wish to pass peacefully at home Christmas day 2010, thanks to the community nurses offered by MarieCurie.
Mum availed of the services as a resident of the hospice for a number of weeks, it was home from home for that time, and after a short battle mum passed August 2014.
I continue to do these treks to raise money for a cause I believe in and know how valuable they are not only for the patient but for the family circle as a whole.
I've met life long friends through these treks and would fully recommend doing one to anyone that ever asks me.
So I thankyou in advance for your support and your help in making a difference to someone with a terminal illness.
To put it in to some context, £20 pays for a MarieCurie nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home for one hour.
