Story
I am running the London Marathon in aid of Brain Tumour Research.
My amazing cousin, Niamh, passed away in November 2021, age 27, after a three-year battle with a brain tumour. Niamh was funny, beautiful and strong. In the last three years, Niamh showed just how resilient and brave she was. In those three years she went through more than any of us can imagine, she had to drop out of University in Liverpool, lost sight in one eye and lost a lot of her speech. Niamh always just got on with it, had a laugh and looked forward to a glass of wine on a Friday night.
In March 2015, our uncle James also lost his fight to a brain tumour. As a family we have seen the devastating damage brain tumours can cause; Niamh and James are missed every single day.
Brain tumours don’t discriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer and yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this horrible disease. Brain Tumour Research’s vision is to fund a cure for brain tumours.
Every donation (big or small) is greatly appreciated and will go towards fighting this horrible disease.
Thank you so much!
