Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Camino de Santiago refers to a range of pilgrimage paths that all lead to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The "Camino" is the "Way of St James". The route we've chosen to walk is called the Portuguese Camino. It starts in Porto and will take us about 280 km north to Santiago. Our walk begins on 11th March 2020 and we expect to be done in three weeks. Slow but steady, one step at a time!
Here's our team: Margaret lives in Romsey and this is her first pilgrimage walk. I'm Abi and I walk in memory of my two children, Pax and Catherine. I have arthritis and had kidney cancer 4 years ago, so this distance is going to be a challenge. John is my partner and he's going to be our 'support team' for the first two weeks. He'll be turning 70 while we're there. (The combined age for the three of us is 197 years!)
We have chosen to raise funds for The Compassionate Friends because it is a fantastic charity that provides great support for bereaved parents and families.
My blog that tells more about us, about the pilgrimage walk, and stories of love, loss, grief and walking. It's here:

Thank you again for visiting the page and for your donations. Our fundraising goal is equivalent to £1 per km for the two of us walking: 280 km x 2 = £560.
