The ride to Paris from Blackpool has been planned for a while now, after some dedicated hours of training – albeit to and from work! I am in a position (I think!) to make this journey from 07 July 2012 and returning on 15 July 2012. It will be a c500 mile ride with four days in sunny (well) England, a ferry ride followed by three sunny (hopefully) days riding in France. Finished off with some frog legs and snails before heading back to London on the Eurostar.

I recently learned that a close friend of mine was helping raise some funds for a dear friend of his who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer a year ago. He mentioned that this form of cancer is not known that well and more often than not diagnosed in the latter stages, by which time the disease would have spread.  

So I thought, since I was participating in this bike ride as a personal passion, I could use it as a vehicle to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer amongst my peers and friends. Any funds I raise will be going towards the new Ovarian Cancer Action research centre at Imperial College London – the UK’s first ever research facility dedicated to ovarian cancer.

All proceeds will be graciously accepted.
