We improve standards of education in Africa to ensure children get a quality education

Story

We’re hitch-hiking to Morocco!

Link Community Development is a charity that works in five African countries to improve access to quality education.
This year we (Lydia and Olly) will be taking part in their annual, sponsored, hitch-hike to Morocco, and so we’re asking *you* to donate to LCD.

We will be hitch-hiking all the way from London, through France, through Spain and across to Morocco. And we are putting ourselves through this long, difficult and potentially perilous journey with the hope to raise at least £1000 for LCD! So please help us meet our target by clicking the donate button below!

We are also willing to brave modern technology and learn what the hell twitter is and use that so that all you lovely sponsors can read what we're up to. It'll be like a soap. But Live. And more international...

If you still require more incentives there will be prizes for those who either donate the most or can correctly predict how long it will take us before we set foot on the African continent. Anyone want a fez from Fez?

Anyone who knows Olly can already imagine his face, beneath a fez next to a Fez road sign… classic!

(p.s. Using this site (JustGiving) is a very quick and very safe way to donate money. it is also very efficient way for the charity to get the money as quickly as possible. If you are unsure, have a read of some of the links below.)

NOTE:  Any donations made on behalf of LCD will not be used to cover personal costs of taking part in the Hitch; all monies collected will go directly to LCD rather than covering costs.

As mentioned , we are offering a few incentives to help get as much as we can for LCD. So far we are willing to give (very Moroccan, very classy) prizes for:

~ Largest single donation (we'll make sure to get this person something extra-good for their troubles)

~ Person who correctly predicts how long it takes us to get to Morocco (3 days, 3 weeks, who knows?), so when you donate, leave a message and have a guess.

~ Anyone donating £10 or more will also be entered into our amazing prize-draw. The Prize for this is tbc, but you can be damn-sure it'll be something good. We'll let you know what  asap.

As if the aforementioned wasn't enough of a reason to donate, Lydia will also be running her first ever 10K race. So, in return for the hours Lyds will be spending at the gym training, please show your support by donating as much as you can to Link Community Development!
