Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May I will be running the Bupa 10k Run in Manchester for Basti Ram. In October 2014 I have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to India and Volunteer for Basti Ram as part of the 'Life through a lens' project. The project works to teach creative skills and industries such as photography to young boys in a destitute home allowing them to produce their own first hand documentation of their life and culture opposing the familiar photos seen from people travelling to such places. The project works to show the day to day lives of the boys with a medium and output not ordinarily accessible to them. The project will take place through Diwali, a time when the boys will have the chance to take amazing photographs documenting their own life.
All money raised will go directly to Basti Ram to fund the work they do and aid me in getting to India to help them! Anyone who knows me will know I'm not what you would call a great lover of exercise, particularly running, so this is a real mental and physical challenge for myself and I really appreciate any donation big or small and will make sure there are plenty of pictures documenting what is possibly going to be the most traumatic day of my life!
You can see more about the project and all the great work Basti Ram do both in the UK and in India on the link below...
