After 4 months of training and fund-raising, I will travel to Malawi with 5 others for 7 weeks at the end of June.

BVDA works with NAYO (Nancholi Youth Organisation), a small community-based organisation in Southern Malawi. The project consists of a wide range of activities in the Nancholi region:

-Construct buildings for the local community e.g. a children care centre for HIV positive children.

-Provide home-based care to people living with HIV and AIDS

-Provide skills training to the youth.

-Educate the youth on sexual reproductive health and teach in local primary shcools.

The responsibility BVDA has as a society and charity is not adopted lightly and they are constantly exploring the issue of SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE intervention in international development and aid.

I have to stress - ALL MONEY RAISED GOES DIRECTLY TO THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY - flights and vaccination expenses are paid out of the pocket of the volunteers :)
