Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online!

This is the first time I have undertaken a sponsored run (or any run, in fact!) and have been motivated to help raise money for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA) after our son, Thomas, was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis at the age of 13 months, after suffering from seizures since he was 4 months old. Various tests were undertaken to try and find a possible cause to the seizures, and an MRI scan revealed the tumours often characteristic of TS. Luckily the epliepsy is now under control, and the only outward sign at the moment is a slight developmental delay.

Like most people, we had never heard of TS, and could not believe that our happy, gorgeous little boy could be affected by such a condition, which has no cure, and is so complex in how it develops and affects different people. However we have been greatly supported throughout Thomas's diagnosis by the TSA, and would like to give something back, hence the run!

So please, if you know Thomas or anyone else who has TS, be generous, and help me raise much needed funds to help the TSA continue its support for families like us, and for research into possible treatments for this complex and cruel condition.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Tuberous Sclerosis Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Jenny Oldknow
