Story
Major Epping Sports Clubs come together to support Christmas
Appeal for Norway House Homeless Shelter
Norway House @ North Weald is temporary home for up to 40
families with up to 60 children
Through no fault of their own these families find
themselves without a home. The key causes for families finding themselves at Norway House are numerous but the most common are Family Breakup, Bad Health, Loss of Employment or a combination of the above.
Bad things can happen to anyone of us. Norway House lend a hand
when families are dealt a bad one. The shelter gives these families a place they can call a home and that is why as sports clubs we have combined to support the families who live there
The Rugby Club have in prior years supported the shelter with food etc for their Christmas party and have also purchased gifts for each child between the ages of 2 and 18 years old.
This year the Epping Sports Clubs will continue to purchase Christmas gifts for all the children however as no parties will be permitted we are going to purchase food hampers for each family so they can have their own party within their own family unit
Our target is £5,000. We have already collected £1,000
from corporate sponsors, £4,000 to go
This sound like a lot of money but all we ask is a small
donation from members of our community. Please give what you can, no amount is too small
In these tough times please think about those who struggle to keep their head above water
We are all in a storm but some of us are in better boats
than others
Epping Sports clubs including Epping Town FC, Epping Youth FC, ABFABFIT, Waltham Abbey FC, Epping Netball Club and Epping Rugby Club combine to support appeal.
For several years Epping Rugby Club have supported families
at Christmas living at the shelter. This Christmas in such unparalleled times they have combined with all the clubs who use their facility to maximize the fund-raising initiative and ensure they bring some Christmas cheer in these difficult times.
