Instead of putting money in to advertising on buildings etc our ethos is to support local worthy causes. We will choose one local charity per year to focus the majority of our fund raising on – this year we have chosen Wasdale Mountain Rescue which is a charity close to our director Vicky, and her family’s, heart after losing her brother during an accident on Scarfell Pike. "The professionalism, care and compassion that we were shown by Wasdale MRT during that awful time and which we have continued to received has been incredible". The team consists of over 50 members who are all volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions. As a charity they are totally reliant on donations for funding (they receive no government funding although they are thought of as a fourth emergency service in the Lake District) and provide a free 24-hour public service, 365 days per year – whatever the weather.

Once a year they take on a round of new recruits, and each new recruit costs around £2000 to kit out in everything they need as a member of the Wasdale Mountain Rescue team - our hope is to be able to kit out at least three new members between now and May 2024. However any donation no matter how big or small counts to this very worthy charity.
