I have witnessed some of the fantastic work done by Chess in Chelmsford, Essex.  But it is never enough, especially in the current climate - sadly, the numbers of people sleeping in doorways around high street and shopping centres has increased. Chess Homeless's vision is to bring an end to homelessness through

• outreach team providing support for temporary & longer term accommodation
• hot meals including hygiene and laundry facilities
• helping to address mental health and well being
• access to housing benefit services
• training for future employment
• prevention/solutions of alcohol and substance abuse
• work with local organisations, councils, housing groups, charities
• foodbanks to provide emergency supplies
