In March 2017, I will be heading off to South Africa for a cycle ride to support our industry charity Transaid and ultimately, their work in Africa.

If you are outside of the truck industry, you might not have heard of Transaid.  You will have heard of at least one of their founders though, Save The Children and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.  HRH The Princess Royal is their patron.

For 25 years Transaid have identified, championed, implemented and shared local transport solutions which improve access to basic services and economic opportunity for poor people in developing countries.

Around 25 to 30 of us will be going from the Western Cape to Cape Agulhas, the Southernmost point of South Africa. 450 km over five days on a mountain bike that is not mine...should be interesting and challenging at the same time.

Now to get properly fit rather than just playing at it!
