Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the next few months I will be participating in two very ambitious challenges to raise funds for the Sebastian Coe Foundation:
London Marathon 2017
Firstly, on 23rd April I will be running the London Marathon. As an 8 year old boy, Seb Coe was a massive inspiration to me when I started running and it is an honour to be selected to join Team Coe in the London Marathon next month. This is the fourth year in a row that I have trained for the London Marathon, having completed it in 2014 and had to withdraw through injury in 2015 and 2016. So far this year I have been able to train and manage my injuries much more effectively and am confident that I will make the start line. I have set myself an ambitious target of completing the marathon in under 3 hours 30 minutes, which is 18 minutes faster than my personal best! I have promised myself and others that I won't be doing it again!!
Reims to Kent Ironman
As some of you know I acted for Champagne Taittinger on the first purchase of land in the UK by a Champagne House in 2015 and to co-coincide with the planting of the new vineyard in Selling in Kent this spring I am participating in an extreme triathlon along with colleagues from S&P's Canterbury Office. We will be leaving from Taittinger's Champagne House in Reims, cycling 180 miles to Calais, Kayaking or sailing the channel, and running 26 miles to the new vineyard.
My firm, Strutt & Parker, have committed to raise £200,000 for the Sebastian Coe Foundation which, in turn, is supporting Cancer Research and the construction of the Francis Crick Institute. The Crick is a state of the art research facility in the heart of London housing 1,500 of the world's best scientists. The research taking place at the Crick will be at the forefront of medical science and I am delighted to be able to support it through The Sebastian Coe Foundation.
I would be grateful for any support you are able to give. If you kindly donated last year this has been carried forward onto this year's JustGiving page.
Thank you,
Nigel
