Story
From 14th to 18th March I will be skiing the Peer Gynt Trail in Norway in memory of my younger daughter Alex, who took her own life after a long struggle with her mental health. I'm aiming to raise funds for Mental Health Research UK which is one of the few charities funding crucial research into the causes of, and treatment for, mental health. More and more young people are experiencing mental health issues, so this research is much needed.
The Peer Gynt Trail is a 100 kilometre cross country ski trail between Espedalan and Skeikampen (near Lillehammer) Norway, in what is known as 'Peer Gynt Country'. The area is named after a local Norwegian hero characterised into fiction by the author Henrik Ibsen. I will be skiing the trail between 14th and 18th March
