*** Update - I have now sucessfully completed the London Marathon in a time of 4 hours and 14 minutes! ***
It was a great day with all the crowds out cheering everyone on, and so inspiring to see so many other runners raising money for good causes. Although I had a few aches & pains afterwards, I recovered a lot quicker than I thought I would! I have decided to do another marathon in September and hope to do the London marathon again next year.
Thanks to everyone who has donated to Leukaemia Care both on this charity page and offline, I really appreciate your support.
This year's London Marathon is my first ever attempt to run this distance, having only covered half the distance before.
I wanted to run for Leukaemia Care being one of the many charities in researching leukaemia and caring for those affected by it, having been inspired by Luke Cory, the son of a good friend of mine. He suffered from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and sadly lost his battle with the disease back in December. I will be running the marathon in Luke's memory, he will always be in my thoughts as such a happy and brave boy, having given his parents and friends such joy throughout his short life. My children are in a similar age group and it certainly brings it home to you how important each moment with them is.
