Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running a half marathon on 13th October to raise money for the charity Dravet Syndrome UK. Many of you may not have heard of this rare type of complex epilepsy, I know I hadn’t - that all changed in November 2016, when my best mate Fran O’Sullivan’s daughter, darling Rosie was diagnosed with Dravet at 5.5 months old.
As a result of this condition, Rosie suffers with global developmental delay and multiple seizure types - and has been known to seize for over an hour. You can only but imagine what this does to her, let alone what her parents go through! But Rosie is amazing, always smiling, always laughing, always happy. She takes it like a boss and I have total admiration for her - she is one hell of a character. Rosie never moans, never wonders why me and never gives up!
So this little three year old made me think that I need to get up off my butt and give something back, so here I am! In less than a fortnight, my mate Fran and I are going to do the London Parks Half Marathon together, to raise awareness and funds for Dravet Syndrome UK, a wonderful charity that supports families and children living with this rare life threatening condition.
We would both really appreciate your help to make a significant difference for those around the UK supported by their wonderful work.
Thank you Nicole & Fran
