Story
Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We are fighting to achieve a better quality of life for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally from these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Ultimately, we want to find a cure.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2011, from this moment on everything changed. I am however one of the lucky ones that has not had to be hospitalised or had surgery. But this doesn't mean it hasn't come with it's fair share of tough times. Living with an illness that is not visible to the eye can be very difficult. To then add to this, it's an illness that not many people know or understand. I am always being told that when I have a flare up its my own fault. I get told you ate something you shouldn't have or you have stressed yourself out. It's hard for people to understand it can just happen. I couldn't handle this disease without the support of my family and friends. So we are all doing this walk to raise awareness and help raise money for this charity.
