Story
Dear Friends,
I am fundraising for "Children in Crisis" which is without a doubt a very worthy cause. Every penny donated will be passed on to the charity. I grew up in Zimbabwe so have seen children living in poverty first hand. No child wishes to enter this world struggling to survive, so if we can give them a helping hand, we should - it makes the world a better place.
As some of you know, I started cycling just over a year and a half ago. On the 2nd of August 2015, (just over 3 weeks away) I will be taking part with 24,999 others in the Prudential Ride London - Surrey 100. The event spans 100 miles, starting at the Olympic Park in London then heading out to Surrey over a few steep hills and finishing back in central London on the Mall.
To enhance your giving experience I am going to DANGLE A CARROT and make it a little more fun!
I am donating two pieces of my artwork, a small bronze Hare and a lino print of a Stag, (a choice of either the red or yellow print) which you could win.
This is how it will work - each donation will allow you to guess how long it is going to take me to cycle the event. Whoever guesses the closest time wins!
Every £20 donation will entitle you to guess a time for the bronze Hare which has a value of £1000.
Every £5 donation will entitle you to guess a time for the Stag lino print which has a value of £250.
Here is some info to help you
guess my time:
Longest Ride with no significant stops - 65 miles
Approximate average speed 14 - 16 Miles per hour
Additional factors to consider – possible punctures, loo stops and waterbottle re-fills
Should I fail to finish the event I will put all the names in a hat and the draw a winner for each art work.
Remember to put your name and estimated time on this page.
To those who donate, an enormous "Thank You!"
