10 years ago, in October 2010 I celebrated my 37th birthday and was also diagnosed with breast cancer. 

I had surgery, chemotherapy and more surgery over the next few years. Each time I was cared for by the fantastic team at the Breast Centre in Llandough Hospital. They looked after me but they also cared for my family. 

In celebration of my 47th birthday and being 10 years on from a cancer diagnosis I will be running 47 kilometers during the month of October (which also happens to be Breast Cancer awareness month). I'm not a runner, it's likely to take me the whole month but I'll get it done!! 

I'm doing this to raise funds for this great local charity,  for my amazing husband and kids who've been through a lot with me, to raise awareness of breast cancer and in memory of some special friends- but also because I can!
