Story
Thank you for visiting my justgiving page. I have been super lucky to be given a place to run the 2015 marathon in April for Herts and Essex Air Ambulance.
Why am I running for the Air Ambulance ?
Many of you will know my son Jack’s friend Luca who was seriously injured in a car accident in Berkhamsted. Luca sustained significant injuries from the collision and following treatment and stabilisation by the ambulance crews and the Heli-Med team, he was flown direct to the specialist trauma unit at the Royal London hospital. This meant Luca could receive the best possible care within the fastest time. Thankfully Luca is making a remarkable recovery from two severely broken legs and already able to walk and cycle.
Jack and George both play rugby up at Tring and the air ambulance has been called on several occasions to fly an injured player to hospital one of which was our friends son Joe. His parents said that you never think that your own child may need the Air Ambulance, the Heli-Med team were super quick, super-professional and super-kind. From call out to arrival at hospital it only took 30minutes. These guys are worth every penny people can donate.
Unlike NHS emergency services, the Herts Air Ambulance, part of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust is a Charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service.
The cost of each rescue averages out at £2,500 but the value to anyone in crisis and needing their help is priceless. My target is to pay for one of those.
Many thanks for your support
Nicola xxxx
