Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the London Marathon in support of the University Hospital Birmingham charity, this is a charity attached to the local hospital. Hospital Charities have a very important place in patient care. The charity supports the hospital by funding projects that will make a visit to hospital more pleasant, such as a children’s play area in the A and E department or to improve the standard of healthcare by purchasing large specialist piece of equipment. The charity will also fund training and research projects all of which will improve the patient experience. For me this is an important charity to support, it is a local cause, it is a small and less well supported charity and I can see that a small amount of money can really make a difference and it will get directly put straight back into patient care.
University Hospital Birmingham Charities is the charity supporting the Queen Elizabeth & Selly Oak hospitals in Birmingham. These hospitals provide world class healthcare to patients not just in the West Midlands but across the UK. Selly Oak hospital also hosts the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, where military patients from around the world receive treatment and support. UHB Charities provide that extra care that the NHS can not afford, in extra equipment, funding research and staff education and development. Your support is vital and much appreciated.
So even a small contribution will make a difference, thank you very much and hope to see some of you round the course for much needed support on the day
