Story
The midnight walk brings together hundreds of women for a night to remember and walk 8 miles to raise money for local families coping with a life-limiting illness.
I am walking for my Mum who had Multiple Sclerosis for 16 years. She was incredibly strong and never gave up. She fought through so much and we always looked forward to taking her home again from hospital.
Unfortunately, on 2nd December 2016, just 2 days before her 64th birthday she lost her battle. She had been admitted to hospital 3 times in the previous 2 months and only spent a few days at home. She couldn't fight it any longer and spent her last days telling us how much she loved and cared for us.
Mum was an amazing woman and a complete inspiration to the many fellow sufferers of MS she met along the way. She went through some of the worst MS our doctor had seen, but she always managed to get something out of life, even when things got real bad.
I will be walking with others who understand and smile with them and remember all our loved ones. If I can raise any money along the way to help the hospice that provided much needed treatment and support to my Mum and my family then that would be a bonus.
Thanks for reading and for your support.
Nicola.
