Story
Years ago I thought I'd like to run a marathon but never got round to running for the bus let alone 26.2miles!
That all changed 2 years ago when I decided to start running for fitness and before I knew it my friend and fellow paramedic Carol had persuaded me to enter a 5K (3miles that felt like 30!). Then it was a 10K and before I knew it we were running the Ealing half marathon and finishing in 2 hours 7 minutes!
I then decided that if I was going to run a marathon I should do it before I turned 40...which means this year!!!!
I've been lucky enough to gain a place through my work as a paramedic for the London Ambulance Service and will be running in support of the service charity The Ben Kinsella Trust. This charity is set up to raise awareness of knife crime following the fatal stabbing of a young man Ben Kinsella who never got to turn 17 let alone 40.
As a paramedic I've seen first-hand the damage caused by knife crime so please sponsor me and help me to raise money for this truly worthwhile cause.
