Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having run the London Marathon in 2012 when it didn't really go as well as I had hoped and I am not sure I enjoyed it either, it seemed logical to enter it again. Now I have done so, I'd like to ask you to help me raise some funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association to give meaning to what would otherwise just be a middle-aged bloke over-reaching himself.
TSC is a genetic condition that is more common than you may know and can sometimes have quite severe consequences for the affected child and by extension their families as well. Put simply, it involves benign growths on a range of structures in the body that can badly limit the function of those organs. I can't say that I was especially aware of the condition until Uzi was diagnosed. It doesn't really slow him down most of the time (try chasing after him) but at other times and in many other ways, it isn't a help either. He is a ray of sunshine (no, not like me) and I would like to do a little to allow him to carry on being himself. The TSA has been a real source of support to his folks and it is a privilege for me to try to help their work. The TSA provides support to families, provides information and education about Tuberous Sclerosis and also aims to promote and support research into the condition.
Debbie and I have both asked for sponsorship in the past year. We have in turn been hugely grateful for the support that we have received. Any contribution from you would be a bonus. I appreciate that there are lots of good causes, but this one is very special to me and any donation you can make, be it a pound, or a fiver or more, would be great and I promise to try to think of all my donors whilst I enjoy the run.
