Story
On June 26th 2014, our little boy kicked his way into this world over nine weeks before he was expected. It was a scary and distressing experience, having a premature baby, who was resuscitated by an amazing paediatric team, taught to breathe by the fantastic paediatric nurses and nurtured thereon, by the NICU and SCBU staff at the William Harvey Hospital.
While he was being taught to live, I was battling with my own health. The paediatric doctors, nurses and support staff, and the midwives and doctors from Folkestone Ward, also pretty much saved me.
When we compete in July, we want to do this for them. Nick is taking part in the full course Triathlon, having never entered a Triathlon before. I am taking part in the tamer Duathlon. Both race up Alpe d'Huez. Eek!
We can never repay these heroes enough - our little bundle of full-on, mad energy is here because of them. But, we want to do something.
