MND affected my life long before I ever knew that it had. It prevented me from ever meeting someone who would turn out to influence my life more than I could ever imagine. Nearly ten years after William Roberts fell victim to MND I had the honor of marrying his daughter Ruth, who is my world.  Like everyone Ruth has faced challenges in her life but unlike many, she has seen first hand the devastation and heartache caused by this horrible disease through her father's own battle with it. The loss of her father was a significant moment in Ruth's life and influenced the person she has become. I have no doubt that much of the beauty, strength, courage, compassion and love that I see her share with our children and others comes from qualities that her Father instilled in her and have a lot to do with why Ruth is the amazing person, wife, and mother she is. I love her and look up to her for so many reasons and wish that my children and I could have known her Father as she did.
