Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In my continuing desire to 'keep on running' whilst 'doing my bit' my latest challenge is to complete two more marathons.
The first marathon will be run on the 4th November, 2012 in New York City and the second will take place in Brighton on 14th April, 2013.
The challenge I have set myself is to see if the combined time of these races will be quicker than than the time it takes to fly from the New York to Brighton* - typically 6 hours and 45 minutes. Thank goodness Concorde is no longer flying.
The 'doing my bit' part of the challenge will be to raise as much money as I can for the JDRF. JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity whose aim it is to improve lives until a cure is found. They fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is caused by a problem with the immune system. You cannot prevent it by adopting a healthy diet, exercising regularly, or living a healthy lifestyle. There is currently no known cure.

*Yes I know you can't actually fly from New York to Brighton, but I'm sure you get the idea.
