Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you knew my uncle, Patrick Murray…he brought a lot of love to this world, despite his physical and mental disabilities. He died in 2018 at the age of 52 after developing Motor Neurone Disease. This is a debilitating illness with no known cure. In his memory and to support those who have MND, including my friend, former teacher and colleague from St Cuthbert's Catholic High School Ian Beck,  I have decided to go swimming…

On 17th August I will be swimming the length of Lake Windermere. When I get to the south end of the lake my plan is to turn around and try and swim back up to the north end. IF I complete this, I will have completed 21 miles of non-stop swimming, wearing only my speedos…and will probably have been swimming for at least 12 hours.

If you would like to sponsor me (and by default Catherine who has the onerous task of sitting on the support boat and feeding me every 30 minutes and has become a swimming widow over the last six months) I would be extremely grateful.
