Thank you for Visiting my JustGiving page.
On May 21st my mum and I will be running our first half marathon, it is actually the first running event I will have ever done. I have been training since January and I won't lie it has not been easy, but it will be worth it.
Many people know, but for those who don't, our son Jake who turned 5 this month, was diagnosed with Autism 2 years ago. Since then it has been a real eye opener learning about a condition myself and Kim knew absolutely nothing about, however we definitely have the best guide we could ask for. Jake is an amazing little boy, who loves Thomas the Tank Engine and playing with his twin brother and sister Ava and Alex. In November last year we decided to take Jake out of main stream school and put him in Ysgol Pen Coch in Flint, an amazing school dedicated to many unique children like Jake. since then he has come on leaps and bounds.
On our journey way we came across a great charity called Autism Aware, Autism Aware UK (AAUK) works hard to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). AAUK also provides online support to families affected by autism by sharing information and offering advice or just being there to listen. AAUK raises funds which are then used to purchase specialist equipment, which is then donated to schools/groups that educate/support people with autism.
We will be running the Chester half marathon for Autism Aware UK and I would appreciate any donations big or small to help support this great charity.
