Story
After an indulgent Christmas and an unwelcomed arrival of a mid-aged mid-drift, it is high time I dusted off those Ron-Hills and silver shadows and embarked on something a little rigorous for the month of May. The plan is to trot round a couple of marathons, one in the sublime bosom of the Dorset countryside and the other up in the striking beauty of Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh.
Sunday 1 May 2011 – North Dorset Village Marathon (26.5 miles)
Sunday 22 May 2011 – Edinburgh Marathon (26.5 miles)
I am very keen to raise a few bob for two chosen charities, one of which is MacMillan Cancer Research and the second is BLESMA. Both do incredible but very different work …
Simply, MacMillan improves the lives of people affected by Cancer of all types. Providing care, support, comfort and hope. If you would like to donate to MacMillan please follow the prompts below.
And secondly, BLESMA which stands for British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association and is the charity that directly supports all our Service men and women who lose limbs, the use of limbs or eyes in the service of our country. If you would like to donate to this then please follow this link...
