Story
Hi there and thanks for reading,
Last year I lost one of the most important persons in my life, my Gran. She was a remarkable lady whose determination, intellect and damn right true Yorkshire grit defined her. She made it to the grand age of 90 and touched so many life's; leaving a hole in each of them now she's no longer with us in body.
She's left a huge one in mind as I spent the last few years seeing her nearly every day; treasuring all that I could. She had me and a wonderful family around her but old age is a lonely place and even she felt it at times. Still she had support too from Age Uk helping to keep her home clean and maintaining her dignity. Age Uk offer so many services to the elderly. More than what my gran required but certainly what many others need. As we as a nation live longer, never more have we needed to help those who made us. Please help.
I'm running my 4th Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May and I hope to be able to do my bit to raise money and awareness. I'll run my heart out for my gran, knowing she will be pushing on to the finish. With your support with me too I know we can do some good from tired legs and knackered needs.
Thank you.
Nick
