We Support children with kidney problems to live as normal a life as possible!

Story

As some of you may know, Murdo, my youngest son contracted E-coli on his 5th birthday last May 2022 and developed a condition called Haemolytic Ureamic Syndrome that cause his kidneys to stop functioning. He was seriously ill and we were transferred from Ninewells to Sick Kids Ward 3c in Glasgow where he had surgery to have a dialysis pump inserted and other lines before commencing 24 hour dialysis to do the work that his kidneys could no longer do. Thankfully, he responded well to the treatment and his kidneys began to work again.

The support and care that he received on Ward 3C and that they gave to our family was outstanding and we can never thank them enough for all that they did. The ward is supported by Kidney Kids Scotland who provide items to the ward for long term patient's, support families and patients with advice and do a lot of good work to support everyone involved.

I walked the Kiltwalk last year and was lucky enough to raise over £800 to raise to the charity, I would love to be able to do the same again and as well as doing the Kiltwalk this year, my husband and I will be climbing Ben Nevis (when the weather is better!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to look at my page. Every penny donated is truly welcomed and appreciated.

Nicci, Sam, Forbes and Murdo xx
