Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When our dad was ill last year, Amy and I decided we would try and get a place at the London Marathon running for the Anthony Nolan Charity. Our dad was so pleased when we finally got the phone call that we had both got in and was even around when we started to plan our fundraising , he was so proud. So on Sunday 24th April Amy and I are heading to London to run our first ever Marathon!!!
December 2014, the cancer came back and Dad once again was diagnosed with non hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that develops in the lymphatic system. He had beat this cancer twice before this so once we got our head round it all we were all with him every step of the way as he went through very tough months of Chemo and Radiotherapy. However, the bone marrow transplant is what he needed to try and save his life. This is were the Anthony Nolan Charity came in. Dad got a match and had his transplant in April. This gave us a chance to spend extra time with our Dad this Summer, seeing Amy graduate from Uni and being their for her 21st birthday, taking Bailey and Buddy on walks on Rimrose, guiding us through how to cook, spending quality time with Mum and more memories we will always cherish.
We can not thank and ever repay the Charity and our Dad's Donor enough for what they tried to do for our Dad. But we hope to raise as much money as we can for this Charity just to give back a little and hope that our money goes towards someone else's transplant one day. Any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated.
We are holding a Charity night at Crosby Comrades Club on Saturday 5th March for the Anthony Nolan Charity in memory of our Dad, if you would like any information on this please get in touch via facebook or email me on jessnelson9@msn.com
Running the marathon will be such a lifetime achievement for Amy and I, and the hours we will put into training will be tough at times. However, this does not compare to anything that our Dad went through mentally and physically and he never lost hope or faith, always staying positive through all that was thrown his way. When we do cross that finish line we know he will be with us all the way, proudly saying 'that's my girls.'
Thankyou for your continued support and any little donation would be gratefully received.
Lots of love Jess & Amy
