This is For my little mate “Olly Mckenna”. I said I would never do the GNR ever again after trying it 4 previous times and decided I didn’t like it due to I think “NOT BEING BUILT FOR RUNNING” but for Team Olly, lets do it 👍

As a lot of you know I give up a little of my time coaching young kids at Westoe Rugby club.

4 yrs ago I had the pleasure of meeting Olly who played on the team. What can I say, such a talented young fella with massive potential, great team player with total respect for his coaches and teammates alike. Olly is one of the most kindest well mannered  kids you will ever meet, alwYs happy and always made a bee line for my youngest Tank!!

Last year Olly was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma -a type of brain cancer, which meant he had to stay in hospital for a long period. His parents Jill and Jason also had to stay at the hospital for a period whilst looking after Olly.

Olly stayed on children's wards during his treatment and he feels they just ain't up to date for his age group. He wants to make a difference and raise money for the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS charity to change things for the better.

 He wants improved facilities for older kids and their parents who have to stay on the ward. Things like up to date decor, decent TVs, kitchen facilities, better beds and something all our kids cannot simply do without......a decent wifi connection!!
