Story
Last year, I completed an amazing Coast 2 Coast challenge for "Seb4CHUF", which is a charity that raises funds for the Children's Heart Unit at Freeman's Hospital, Newcastle. Many of you watching the news recently will have seen the ongoing process to ensure that CHUF can continue to save young lives as they have done for some years now. I am supporting Seb4CHUF because the work they do is immense, and having worked in similar wards in the Children's Hospital, Sydney, know first hand that the support we can provide will make a real difference to the recovery and future of the children on this ward.
In July, I will be embarking on a tough, 4 day endurance event that is loosely called a "Coast 2 Coast". This will consist of:
o Day 1: Cycle 75 miles from Whitehaven to Keswick, climbing up the toughest climbs in the Lake District. 2 are in the top 10 climbs in the UK and the route includes Hardnott Pass, Wrynose Pass, Whinlatter Pass and Honister Pass. Total climbing is 4,963 ft
o Day 2: Swim 1 mile across Derwent Water
then a cycle of 65 miles to Alston climbing up Kirkstone Pass and Hartside Pass. Total climbing is 3,805 ft
o Day 3: Run 35 miles to Close House Hotel
o Day 4: Run a Marathon (26miles) from Close House to Tynemouth
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND I WILL BE KEEPING YOU POSTED BEFORE AND DURING THE EVENT IN JULY!
