Story
In October 2019, Marie was diagnosed with Semantic Dementia.
Semantic Dementia is one of the conditions of Primary progressive aphasia (PPA) which is caused by damage to parts of the brain that control our personality, emotions, language and behaviour.
To support Marie and all Dementia sufferers, Team Ouldridge will therefore be participating in the Alzheimers Society 'United Against Dementia' MEMORY WALK on 20th September. As a family this is our way to make a real difference for people affected by dementia.
We will be completing a 20 kilometre walk around our hometown of Swindon, taking in memorable places that have played an important part of our lives since Marie and I met as childhood sweethearts in 1985!
We fully understand these are difficult financial times for many of our friends and family due to the pandemic, therefore we have set a target of only £400, so if you could spare just the odd pound it would be fully appreciated and make a huge difference for Alzheimer's Society, which like all charities have been hit hard over recent months.
From our research Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will help support and create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Thank you xxxxx
