Twenty seven years ago I did a cycle ride with my school friend Steve,
to raise money for a truly amazing charity, the Dorothy House Foundation. We were 16 and
without any practice managed to cycle from Bath to the
New Forest, raising a total of £140 (see gallery for further info). The
Dorothy House Foundation is a charity that was originally established in Bath
where we grew up. It's helped countless numbers of terminally ill
patients and their families over the years, allowing patients to be cared for
at home rather than in hospital, enabling them to make the most of living in
the time that is left. With that in mind, Steve and I decided earlier this year
to recreate our experience and establish whether we could do it again, in our
forties, with a similar level of training and planning?! To add to the challenge
I've recovered an old Peugeot 10-speed bike from the 1980s to see how it gets
on in the 21st century. Please sponsor me!
