Story
Hi all,
I am running the Edinburgh Marathon in May in order to raise money for a life-changing operation for a 6-year old girl, Leila McMurray. Leila, the daughter of a work colleague, has cerebral palsy which mainly affects her legs, and thereby her ability to walk and run.
Doctors have indicated that Leila would greatly benefit from an operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR), which would permanently reduce the tension and tone of the muscles in her legs, and, with some intensive post-operative physiotherapy, get her running, jumping, dancing, and anything else she feels like! Currently, the SDR operation and physio aftercare are not available on the NHS, and must be funded privately, hence my efforts to try and raise a few pounds to help.
Any support you could give would be fantastic and your contribution would last a lifetime. Every donation, large or small, counts towards Leila's parents' dream to get her 'up and running'! Your money is looked after by Tree of Hope, who will ensure that all donations are used for Leila and that any Gift Aid can be collected, so that your money goes further. Should the target amount be exceeded (or if not enough funds are raised, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity, so it's the most efficient way to donate, saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks in advance for your support!
Neil
