Story
Hi to everyone who has sponsered us so far.
We just thought we would update you as to the finer details of the day and how it went.
The day went really well, with massive thanks to not only everyone who sponsered us, it really means so much to us, but also to our wives and children who made huge sacrifices to help through the event and support us all of the way.
The total time for the "Half Ironman" event for us was 5 Hours 58 Minutes, not World Record breaking although it seemed it to us!!
The breakdown was as follows:
Swim 47 Minutes
Cycle 3 Hours 15 Mins
Run 1 Hour 56 Mins.
As you can see we have raised so far £ 1017.50 for McMillan Cancer and still more donations pledged but yet to be received. The money raised albeit a drop in the ocean compared to that required will still help many people lives and demonstrate your kindeness in giving to this really worthwhile charity.
We enjoyed the event "So Much" we are contemplating a "Full Ironman" next year, being exactly twice the distances of this year!! Believe me that will take some training ( And some convincing!!) not only for our mental state but also the patience of our families.
In between this event and the possible one next year we will be commencing marathon training as we wish to complete a marathon before the end of the year, again for a Cancer charity.
You can find some photo's attached to the website, not pretty, but nevertheless we thought you ought to see some of the pic's, transitions and final phase, a pint in the pub garden!!
Once again such huge thanks to all who sponsered us, a great cause, worthy charity and for people who really need our help. If you think friends or family would still like to donate after the event, please do help them to help others.
Best Wishes and see you soon.

Hi There,
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
I thought that I would just give you a brief insight into our current world of training for the Half ironman Triathlon to raise money for our charity. Paul and I decided some 4 months ago to do something that would test our fitness, bodies and mental state!! Since then we have been increasing week on week the miles/Km's in order to be somewhere ready for the 24th April 2010.
The 2 man event will take place in and around Monmouth where the swimming will be in Monmouth pool and the cycling and running around Momouth on and off road. The distances to cover are 1.9Km swim followed by a 90Km cycle ride and finishing with a 21Km run. We hope to do all of this in under 8 hours. If still alive afterwards, then we'll probably have a beer in Monmouth to celebrate!!
We'll keep you updated as we go along but please support Macmillan Cancer as much as you can. They do a really fantastic job and your kind donations could help thousands of people suffering from various types of Cancer. Please e mail your freinds and family to help us raise much needed funds to assist for the future.
Many Thanks in advance for your support.
Neil and Paul
