Story
Running a marathon doesn't seem particularly attractive at this point. Instead, I'm going to jump out of an aeroplane and raise some money for an important and personal cause. In April 2019 I had two operations to remove a cancerous brain tumour, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It wasn't the best timing as I had to suspend my University degree until January 2021. Fortunately, I'm well enough to have returned to normal life. But I know this sadly isn't the case for many other brain tumour sufferers.
Following the incredible efforts of my dad, sister, and godfather,
who've all run the London Marathon and raised tremendous funds for
charities that have supported me, it's my turn to step up and support
Brain Tumour Research and the vital work they do.
Brain Tumours and indiscriminate; they affect anyone at any age. What's more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
