Neal Leach of Bulawayo Zimbabwe was one of riders on the inaugural " Old Legs Cycling Tour" who rode on April 2018, along with Bruce Fivaz aged 72, Eric deJong (leader and organiser) aged 56 and Dave Whitehead aged 42 to raise money for Zimbabwe’s financially challenged pensioners. This year Neal plans to complete a ride from Honde Valley to Bulawayo to raise funds for Community Action Trust UK. C.A.T a registered charity with the charities commission in the UK (reg.1183951) is run by an executive board of Trustees and a committee of fundraisers in the UK and a team of dedicated community members in Zim who have the elderly’s interests at heart, providing a holistic approach to better their well-being through , health, nutrition and psychosocial support. C.A.T. is currently proactive in Harare, Gweru, Kwe Kwe , Bulawayo, Mutare and Masvingo, with plans to extend into further locations as the project rolls out.
At 74 years young , Neal will be accompanied by his lovely wife Jenny and Dot Bekker who will drive the support vehicle.
Leaving from Honde Valley Old age home on the 9th October 2022 and all things being equal arriving in Bulawayo at Ascot Shopping Centre parking lot on the 14th October, . A total of nearly 700 kms.
