Amantani- The 10k Swim

At the Start of January I met Fred and Chris two truly inspiring people that came to talk to the school about a charity they had set up in Peru. This charity was called Amantani. When visiting Peru they had spotted to fundamental problems; 

1. A 4 hour walk from home to school each day

2. An Irrelevant educational curriculum.

After hearing this they set up some boarding houses and began helping the local area. See http://www.amantani.org.uk/Home for more information. 

Upon hearing this I was inspired and felt I could do something to help so together with some very kind volunteers I will be swimming 10k, 400 lengths of my school swimming pool while friends from the school join me through various stages.

This money will really help to increase the support both Fred and Chris can give and I hope to raise enough through various events to build our very own boarding house. This is very ambitious from just one event but you have to start somewhere.
