Eastbourne Half Marathon 2023 · 5 March 2023 ·

The Rose Paterson Trust is named after Rose Paterson, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother (amongst many other things). Rose could not have been kinder or a greater force for good. She took her own life in June 2020 and we want to help people like Rose and families like Rose's however we can.

Story

I've been fortunate enough to work with the Rose Paterson Trust and see the great work they do to combat suicide. This is a small, family-run charity that has experienced first-hand the devastating impact of suicide. Now, they are determined to do whatever they can to prevent other families going through what they have been through.

I wouldn't call myself a natural runner! I'm not looking to smash any records here. I'm just hoping to complete the distance in a (semi-)respectable time and raise a bit of cash for a good cause.

It would be amazing if you felt able to show your support and give a small amount towards the Rose Paterson Trust. Below is a short summary of the charity. Please do visit their website if you want to find out more. Thank you!

Rose Paterson took her own life in June 2020. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was also Chairman of Aintree Racecourse. Despite her achievements, she was struggling to cope and needed help. Every four minutes someone in the UK tries to take their own life; every 90 minutes someone succeeds. However, no suicide is inevitable if individuals in crisis can access the right support. Our mission is to support the organisations and individuals combatting the suicide epidemic through fundraising and policy change.
