I have decided to run the Milton Keynes Marathon on April 29th and raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2021. Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many of our 25,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work.

My Sisters boyfriends Dad was last year diagnosed with this condition and it has changed the lives of everybody connected to him. The support that Alzheimer's Society has given to his family has been first class, and I'd like to help out by raising money. Having never run any kind of distance before, and having always wanted to challenge myself by doing a Marathon I thought the MK Marathon would be an ideal place to start.
