As an ex-professional sportsman I had a difficult time transitioning to a 'normal' way of life after retirement. It took a lot out of myself and my family and badly affected my mental well-being. Fortunately for me I had good family and friends who helped me through this tough time, however, a lot of ex-players are not as fortunate and this transition can be too much for some with devastating consequences. Rugby League Cares has been set up in recognition of this with the main purpose of supporting ex-professional and amateurs throughout the sport. It provides financial aid, help with further education and courses and most importantly a support network of people who can lend an ear and give emotional support when it is needed the most. This charity means a lot to me and the game of rugby league and any help you can give through your donations will be most welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
