Story
Hello Friends and Family!
I'm running the London Marathon this October in support of the Seafarers' Charity. Warren and Ann's friend John Corp has supported the Seafarers' Charity for years, and John was able to help me receive a charity entry to the marathon through them. (The entry was delayed several years due to Covid.) When our family was in London, John was extremely kind to Jonathan and Eleanor, and taught them to play cricket during a break in his club game. John and Prue and their family are very close friends of Ann and Warren.
Last year my 22 year marathon streak ended due to a torn meniscus (from an unexpected quick move in an adult league baseball game). After a year of re-hab, and a good summer of training, I'm ready to start another streak.
Kasey and Warren will be in England to cheer me on, and I'd really appreciate any donation you can make to the Seafarers' Charity--they do a great job of helping the nearly invisible people who work at sea.
Here's a bit more:
At The Seafarers’ Charity (formerly Seafarers UK), we’ve been improving the lives of seafarers and their families for over 100 years. We started as the King George’s Fund for Sailors, providing vital assistance in troubled times. Today, we’re evolving guided by the same powerful vision. Through our grant giving, we’re bringing about truly life-changing impact for many who work – or have worked – at sea, and their families. Alongside this we’re also using funding collaboration, research and advocacy.
Thank you!
Nathan
