Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising much needed funds for Cats Protection Newbury Adoption Centre.
I am so excited to be taking part in an amazing Challenge. Most of you may know that I'm not overly fond of water so canoeing down a river will be a huge challenge for me. A highlight of the trip will be spending three days helping on a range of tasks at the Lion Conservation Project, something I have always dreamt about doing.
There are always plenty of heart felt stories working with cats in our care but one that stands out is Fusa
Fusa arrived at Newbury Cats Protection with cat flu symptoms and a very obvious head tilt. She had a serious ear infection, her balance was affected too, causing nausea. Antibiotics and ear treatment, haven’t helped to alleviate the symptoms.
Xray's revealed the problem was in the middle ear and possibly a polyp causing all the symptoms. Due to the location of the problem, specialist treatment is needed. Fusa will need a CT scan and an operation to access the middle ear and to remove the polyp (ventral bulla osteotomy). Specialist treatment and scans are very costly but we want to give this young kitty a chance, time is of essence and we would appreciate your help in order for Fusa to receive the treatment she deserves. She has been estimated at 5 years old.
It is heart breaking to watch Fusa suffer, her balance is a little better but we have had to raise Fusa's food bowls for her just to be able to eat because if she has to drop her head to eat; snot runs from her nose and causes her to have a very uncomfortable sneezing attack! She is still taking antibiotics to prevent the symptoms from getting worse and she has to have a decongestant with her food. Every time we medicate it takes a while for Fusa to recover her balance. Fusa is being kept comfortable but she now needs your help to survive!
Fusa is the sweetest of cats, all she wants is cuddles and will snuggle into your neck at every opportunity. With this operation the chance of a full, comfortable and happy life.
Please donate to my just giving page and let's help towards Fusa's care :)
