Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
I am going to do a 24 hour fast on the 14th of November this year, in order to raise money for families and their children affected by the Ebola outbreak.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the largest and deadliest the world has ever seen. More than 3,300 people have died and around 7,000 are infected across Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Eight neighbouring countries are also at risk as the virus could quickly spread across borders. Right now children are in danger. Many are being orphaned by the disease, schools and health facilities for pregnant women are closing, and vital routine immunisation programmes are halting because of the emergency.
With the help of donations, UNICEF is on the ground, leading humanitarian efforts to control the disease by reaching 5.5 million people with messages about the dangers of the Ebola virus, how to protect against it, and where to get help. We're providing care and support services for children and families hit by Ebola, especially the most vulnerable children, and protective equipment and medical supplies to hospitals and health workers.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and if you can donate anything at all for the cause (even a little bit), it will go a long way!
