I have wanted to volunteer with VSO - Voluntary Service Overseas - for over ten years, and finally my VSO adventure is about to begin. In September I go to Gambia, where I will work for two years as a monitoring and evaluation specialist for a women's farming association.
Before, during, and after I go to work with VSO I will be fundraising on their behalf. The money that I raise will help to support future volunteers to work with VSO and share their skills with developing countries.
Any money that you can donate to help me reach my target would be gratefully received.
Here are some examples of how your money could help:
£36.40 can help a VSO obstetrician working in West Timor, Indonesia for a week, safely delivering 12 babies.
£158 can help VSO keep an education adviser in Nepal for one month, planning ways to get the poorest children to school.
£500 can train and provide initail funds to 10 HIV positive women in Mozambique to start their own business, so they can pay for their children to go to school.
£948 can keep a VSO doctor providing crucial treatment to reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission in Uganda for 6 months.
Thank you on behalf of myself, VSO and the countries they serve for donating your hard earned money!
